Earlier on Friday, news reports confirmed the rumor that Swift was going to be subpoenaed in Baldoni and Lively\u2019s lawsuit. Now, the singer\u2019s spokesperson slammed the subpoena, telling <em>Rolling Stone <\/em>that Swift\u2019s connection to th<em>e It Ends With Us <\/em>drama was limited to licensing one song.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cTaylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film,\u201d the spokesperson said, adding, \u201cShe did not even see <em>It Ends With Us <\/em>until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024, headlining the biggest tour in history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe statement slightly contradicts a statement Baldoni made earlier in the case, claiming that during a meeting at Lively\u2019s Tribeca penthouse to discuss a scene rewrite, a famous celebrity \u2014\u00a0later revealed to be Swift \u2014\u00a0happened to stop by and advocated for Lively\u2019s writing. Later, according to a text message included in Baldoni\u2019s lawsuit, Lively called Reynolds and Swift her \u201cdragons,\u201d in reference to <em>Game of Thrones<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn previous filings, Baldoni\u2019s team suggested that Swift might have knowledge of Lively\u2019s views on the lawsuit and relevant events in the feud. <em>It Ends With Us<\/em> actress Isabela Ferrer also previously told <em>Extra<\/em> that Swift had helped get her the role as the younger version of Lively\u2019s character in the film. (\u201cShe was a helpful part of the process of the audition\u2026 which rocked my world,\u201d Ferrer said on the red carpet for the film.)<\/p>\n<section>\n<h2 id=\"section-heading\">\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThe connection Taylor had to this film was permitting the use of one song, \u2018My Tears Ricochet,&#8217;\u201d the Swift spokesperson reiterated in Friday\u2019s statement, referring to the <em>Folklore<\/em> track featured in the movie. \u201cGiven that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift\u2019s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.\u201d (Baldoni\u2019s attorney, Bryan Freedman, did not immediately reply to <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s request for comment.)<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBaldoni has been in a legal battle with Lively since December, when she\u00a0sued him for alleged sexual harassment\u00a0and a smear campaign. Baldoni has since denied the allegations and\u00a0countersued Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist, alleging civil extortion and defamation.
